In 1965, Oak Cliff was a thriving upscale community just south of downtown Dallas. To fill the need for Class A office space, Oak Cliff Bank and Trust built a multi-tenant office building far larger than any other property in Oak Cliff. The tower, originally planned at nine stories, eventually went to fifteen with the last six stories approved after the tower’s steel skeleton was already several stories high. The tower opened on Monday, January 4, 1965 and still today remains the largest multi-tenant office building in Oak Cliff.

The building has been owned by various institutions until purchased by current ownership made up from a group of local investors. Past and current renovations were/are made in an effort to use the best current technologies and designs but to complement the buildings’ original architecture and past. Oak Cliff Tower is a bronze-sheathed structure that completely dominates one corner of the Dallas skyline. The building rests on a landscaped platform embellished with mature trees and a nostalgic touch of the West. Mature Red Oaks – the tree for which Oak Cliff took its name – and Live Oaks provide shade for the tenants taking their lunch break on the promenade benches. The exterior is constructed of solar glass of amber bronze coloration with glow and warmth, subtle aged finishes and bronze.

The community of Oak Cliff is currently experiencing a revitalization to return to its original grandeur and Oak Cliff Tower has become a great partner in this effort.
