This quarter a segment of the Bishop Arts District was done by Good Morning Texas. Jim and Amanda Lake met with interviewer Hannah Davis at one of the oldest restaurants in the Bishop Arts District, El Jordan Cafe. El Jordan Cafe opened 26 years ago by Lorena and Jose Gonzalez. Mr. Gonzalez passed away in 2019 and Mrs. Gonzalez continues the charm and character of the unique Mexican restaurant. Mrs. Gonzalez says in the interview that she thanks God that she has been able to stay open and continue Mr. Gonzalez’s dream. You can definitely taste the love in every meal.

Jim and Amanda Lake have seen the Bishop Arts District grow tremendously over the years. They continue to strive to lease to tenants that are unique and add to Bishop Arts District charm. As Mr. Lake stated in the interview “the owners are here” meaning these owners of the small business really work hard towards the success of their businesses.

We would like to thank Good Morning Texas for taking the time to interview Jim and Amanda Lake and especially highlighting Mrs. Gonzlez and El Jordan Cafe.
